Qualifications
Mr. Burleson has been engaged in the fields of architectural design, building construction and program/project management for over 30 years. Following receipt of a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Tech, Chuck began his career with several small design firms in the Atlanta area. From 1983 to 1986, he was engaged as co-owner of a sub-contracting firm focused on mid-size retail, office, warehouse, and medical facilities. However, upon completion of his Master of Architecture, he returned to architectural practice, specializing in banking, medical and other commercial facilities.
From 1990 to 1995, Mr. Burleson worked with Satulah Group (now Brookwood Program Management), on a wide variety of projects for a number of large corporate clients. Project work included construction management for branch bank and office renovations, management of signage conversions and replacements, architectural design services, database development and management, programming of project requirements, development of bridging (design/build) RFPs, development of strategic R/E and construction procurement plans, etc.
From 1995 to 1997, Chuck was with Lincoln Property Company as Senior Construction Director for NationsBank (now Bank of America) office buildings in the Southern Region (Georgia, Texas, Florida) reporting to the bank's Real Estate Services group. He was responsible for organization and leadership of the team, development and documentation of PM processes, hiring, training and managing of PMs, development of vendor relationships, and coordination with banking clients. While at Lincoln, he led the bank's facility transition team for the acquisition of BankSouth corporate facilities in Georgia.
In 1997, Mr. Burleson j
oined Turner Properties, a division of Turner Broadcasting, Inc. and Time Warner, working on broadcast, technical and office facilities for the CNN Newsgroup and other Turner corporate groups. In his ten years with Turner, Chuck was involved with or had oversight for approximately 550 projects totaling over $250 million. He spent his last 5 years as Vice President for Planning, Architecture and Construction.
In his current role as Senior Program Director at Advent, Chuck is currently responsible for project management services for CarMax.
